Outdoor photographer Dusan Smetana was raised in a small village in the Carpathian Mountains, where he spent his boyhood following in the footsteps of his father in a quest for trout, red deer and wild boar. He studied both forestry and photography in Czechoslovakia. Mesmerized by stories of the American Wild West, he eventually escaped the Communist regime of his homeland. Today he makes his home in Montana with his wife, two children and a loft full of homing pigeons. His work is widely used by editorial and corporate clients.
