Hoyt's Petra Ericsson posts monster score in Norway
At the annual Stavanger FITA this past weekend in Norway, Hoyt’s Petra Ericsson of Sweden scored an amazing 1418 score with her Hoyt Ultra Elite and Easton X10 shafts.
This is the highest score ever at this indoor event for either a man or a woman- 16 points higher than the current women’s compound world record. It is believed to be the highest score ever shot with a compound bow by any woman in any event.
Petra’s achievement follows a long string of successes and many world records, including the 25 meter FITA II indoor record which has stood for many years.
Petra, a technical manager for Volvo, is the only member of the Hoyt Pro Staff named to both the recurve and compound Pro Staff rosters, having competed in the Olympic Games several times with her Hoyt recurves, and at the World Championships with both compound and recurve.
The Stavanger FITA attracts the best archers in Scandanavia, and Europe. It is run like an outdoor FITA in a large indoor facility and is the first FITA distance event of the year in Europe.
