BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Team Hoyt’s shooters shared the field with record numbers of archers from all venues at the 2008 Gold Cup, but they refused to share the podium with anyone not wearing Hoyt red. The much-anticipated NAA circuit event saw yet another medal-sweeping performance by Team Hoyt.
In the men’s elimination matches, Reo Wilde took the top spot, Logan Wilde finished second and Tony Baines outlasted Chance Beaubouef to place third. Hoyt’s ladies fared equally as well, with Erika Anschutz leading the field and Jamie Van Natta and Brittany Lorenti finishing second and third, respectively.
Also of note is Dave Cousins’ record-breaking mark in the qualifying round, where he posted an unbelievable 712 double 70-meter score – breaking the previous record by one point. Cousins’ performance kicked off the Gold Cup in style for Team Hoyt, and set the stage for a Hoyt-dominated event.
