Total Hoyt Sweep at NAA National Field

6/09/2008

SPOKANE, WA – The extremely difficult shooting conditions tested the mettle of some of the country’s best shooters at the recent NAA National Field Tournament, but in the end, Team Hoyt once again owned the podium in both the men’s and women’s compound divisions.

In the Men’s Compound Division, Hoyt’s Dave Cousins and Rod Menzer placed first and second, respectively, with Hoyt’s Compound Pro Staff Coordinator Kevin Wilkey finishing third. In the Women’s Compound Division, Jamie Van Natta finished first, followed by Tiffany Reeves and Nancy Zorn.

The Men's Recurve Division also saw a podium finish for Team Hoyt, as Joe McGlyn finished second.

The two-day, FITA field-style event consisted of 24 unmarked-distance targets the first day and 24 marked- distance targets the second day. Extreme shots were the norm, with some shots as steep as 60 degrees and as far as 60 meters. The tournament is arguably the most difficult game in archery due to the terrain, shot angles, distances and unmarked yardage. The fact that Team Hoyt swept the event speaks to the skill and dominance of its shooters.
