Team Hoyt Battles Tough Conditions, Owns Podium at FITA World Field Championships

Llwynypia, GBR - Despite torrential downpours and gusting winds that caused treacherous shooting conditions and even rendered some courses unshootable, Team Hoyt overcame adversity and enjoyed an amazing gold medal sweep at the recent FITA World Field Championships.
Hoyt's Rod Menzer held tough and outlasted the field in the Men's Compound Division to take the gold medal. It was Menzer's first-ever appearance at the World Field Championships. Dave Cousins - a past FITA World Field Champion - finished in third place.
In the Women's Compound Division, Jamie Van Natta added to her already impressive 2008 season with yet another first-place finish. Van Natta's Hoyt teammates Ulrika Sjowall (SWE) and Anna Laurilla (FIN) enjoyed silver and bronze medal-winning performances, respectively. Inge Enthoven (NED) placed fourth, and Tiffany Reeves, Gladys Willems (BEL) and Anastasio Anastassia (ITA) earned top-ten finishes.

Current World Indoor Champion and 2004 World Field Champion Sebastian Rohrberg (GER) shot his way to a gold medal in the Men's Recurve Division with his Hoyt Nexus/900CX.  Hoyt's Joe McGlyn (USA) and Jonathan Shales (GBR) notched top-ten finishes as well.

In Women's Recurve competition, Jessica Tomasi (ITA) won the gold with her Hoyt Nexus/G3 over fellow Hoyt pro staff member Elin Kattstrom (SWE).  Hoyt shooters Naomi Folkard (GBR), Irene Franchini (ITA), Carole Ferriou (FRA) and defending World Field Champion Dolores Cekada (SLO) achieved top-ten finishes as well.

Hoyt would like to congratulate all of the shooters for overcoming the tough conditions and posting incredible scores at the FITA World Field Championships.
