Broadwater, Schuh dominate competition!

In the first major event of the 2010 competition season, Team Hoyt has turned in top level performances in every category here in the seaside resort city of Nimes, France. The 13th European Indoor of Nimes has proven to be the biggest ever, with top shooters from the Americas and Asia joining the best shooters of Europe for this event.

More than 1,200 competitors attended the well-run showcase event, and when the dust settled, it was Hoyt’s Jesse Broadwater (USA) who took victory in the men’s compound category with an amazing 119/120 (FITA scoring).

Not to be outdone, French top shooter Berengere Schuh used her 2010 Hoyt Formula RX/F4 to take the women’s gold with a perfect score of 120 in front of an appreciative crowd of several thousand spectators.

Hoyt’s Brady Ellison (USA) also turned in an impressive performance with his Formula RX/F3, shooting the highest men’s qualifying score of 592, and proving both his consistency and that of the 2010 Fiormula bow with another 592  accumulation of scores from the elimination rounds, beating the scores of every other shooter including those from recurve powerhouses Korea, France and Italy on the way to his performance benchmark and the finals. On the way to the finals he defeated a top Korean shooter with a near-perfect 119 pass.  Of the Formula, Brady said 'This is the best recurve bow I have ever shot bar none".

The men’s silver medal was taken by Hoyt’s Marco Galiazzo (ITA) in a tight final that came down to a single point. The 2004 Olympic champion delivered a 118/120 to take the silver.

Another great recurve performance came from Hoyt’s Jessica Tomasi (ITA) in the women’s elimination and through to the finals.

Hoyt’s Yumiko Honda (JPN) also turned in an excellent finals performance in the women’s compound category after defeating Team Hoyt’s Nichola Simpson (GBR), the 2009 Vegas champion, in a quarter-final shootoff.

Hoyt's Eugenia Salvi (ITA), the 2007 World Outdoor and World Indoor Champion, set a new FITA Women's Masters Compound World Record in the qualification round with a 585, eclipsing the 584 record held by Hoyt's Nichola Simpson (GBR).

Hoyt would like to congratulate its shooters on an excellent showing at Nimes!
