POREC, CROATIA – Hoyt shooters continued their indoor domination at the recent World Archery European Indoor Championships. When all was said and done, Team Hoyt took first place in all categories!

In the Women’s Recurve division, Team Hoyt’s Natalia Valeeva (ITA) added yet another victory to her already impressive list of titles by defeating fellow Hoyt shooter Coby Hurkmans (NED). Valeeva accomplished this impressive feat with her all–new Hoyt Formula, which she received just a couple weeks prior to the tournament. The amazing new Formula System has won every major tournament to date!

In the Men’s Recurve division, past World Archery Indoor Champion and current World Field Champion Sebastian Rohrberg (GER) took first place over Michele Frangilli. Rohrberg ranked first all weekend with a 592 in qualification and carried his momentum straight to the end to notch yet another incredible victory for Team Hoyt.

Another amazing accomplishment for Team Hoyt was the performance of Poland’s Anna Stanieczek. Ranked 12th in qualification, she cruised through the elimination rounds and went straight to the finals. There she faced Ivana Buden from Croatia - the home crowd favorite and 2009 World Cup finalist. Stanieczek kept her winning streak alive and took the Women’s Compound championship home to Poland!

Team Hoyt’s Sergio Pagni (ITA) - the 2009 World Cup Finals winner and defending European Champion - successfully defended his title in Porec. Ranked 10th after qualification, he picked up the pace with match scores of 120, 120, 119, 119 and found himself in the gold medal finals. His final opponent could not keep Pagni away from his second European title in a row. Pagni scored another impressive 119 over his opponent’s 116 to clinch the gold medal in the Men’s Compound division.

World record holder Peter Elzinga (NED) defeated Pierre Julien Deloche (FRA) to finish third in the Men’s Compound division.

Hoyt would like to congratulate its shooters on their excellent performance at the World Archery European Indoor Championships!
