Randy Walk Ushers in 2010 Season with Boone & Crockett-Caliber Trophy
With the 2010 bow season just barely underway in a few Western states, Hoyt president Randy Walk has wasted little time getting a record book-caliber buck on the ground. Just a few days into a recent “do-it-yourself” (DIY) Nevada bowhunt, Walk arrowed a massive mule deer that sports a wide, heavy 5X5 frame that gross scores 197” - easily making the buck one of the first - and the largest - Boone & Crockett bucks bagged so far in the 2010 season.
Walk shot the buck with Hoyt’s premiere 2011 bow – a yet-to-be-unveiled engineering masterpiece of form and function. A passionate bowhunter and highly accomplished engineer, Walk goes to great lengths each year to put Hoyt’s new bows to the test, logging extensive time in the R&D lab, at the range and in the field. Simply put, a new bow isn’t a Hoyt until it earns Walk’s seal of approval.
Like all Hoyt employees, Walk is driven by an undying love of archery and bowhunting, and an unwavering commitment to testing and introducing the archery industry’s most innovative products. “I take great pride in being part of a company that puts cutting-edge technologies and durable, reliable bows in the hands of diehard bowhunters and archers everywhere,” Walk said. “I take our research, development and product testing very seriously, because I know that our bows are going to end up in the hands of bowhunters and archers like myself who demand the very best.”
The time of year that we all wait for and dream of is upon us. From everyone at Hoyt, may your season be filled with much success, safety and memories to last a lifetime. Good hunting!
