NIMES, France January 23 2011
With 1,100 archers from 30 countries around the world, live video and an unmatched finals show, the Nimes European Indoor Archery Tournament is one of the world’s premiere events, and the 2011 edition was no exception.
Once again this year, Hoyt shooters dominated the event, taking 10 of 16 podium positions including a total sweep of Men’s recurve. FORMULA shooters dominated the recurve event, with Hoyt’s Brady Ellison (USA), Crispin Duenas (CAN)and Magnus PETERSSON (SWE) taking all three medal positions with their FORMULA system bows.
On his way to the podium, Brady and his FORMULA RX shot an astounding 14 30's- 42 10's in a row, undefeated in every single set from the 1/16th to the Gold Medal final!
Of his incredible performance, Brady said: "This is the same FORMULA RX I used to win the World Cup and which I shot through the entire 2010 season. It's so nice to have a totally reliable, totally accurate bow like my RX. It gives me tons of confidence!"
Women’s compound was another total Hoyt sweep, with Champion Joanna CHESSE (FRA), Inge VAN CASPEL (NED), Gladys WILLEMS( BEL) and Catheline DESSOY (BEL) taking all of the podium positions. In all, 7 of 8 quarter finalists shot Hoyt bows!
Team Hoyt took 3 of 4 podium positions in Men’s compound, which saw Hoyt’s Peter ELZINGA (NED), holder of the current FITA World Record, sweep 4 straight matches on his way to the Gold Medal Finals. Logan WILDE (USA) took bronze.
