Reo Wilde Makes History in Lancaster
Third Lancaster Title for reigning World Champion
Hoyt's Reo Wilde (USA), the reigning FITA World Champion, has again repeated as champion in the premiere class at the Lancaster Archery Classic, after a spectacular performance and a near-perfect shoot-off performance.
Reo first won this prestigious competition in 2008, and again in 2010. He's the only shooter to take the title more than once and is the only shooter to ever shoot a perfect 660 in the qualification round.
Bringing his "A" game to the 7th edition of what has become one of America's premier indoor events, Reo won the shoot-off by a whopping three point margin, and was ranked #1 throughout the competition, dominating in all four stages (Qualification, 1st, 2nd and 3rd eliminations). Reo wasn’t the only Hoyt shooter that brought their “A” game. Seven out of the top eight were all shooting Hoyt. Doug Monteleone, Jesse Broadwater, Ben Cleland, Shane Wills, Gary Smith Jr. and Garrett Ayersman all placed 3rd through 8th respectively.
"My Hoyt Vantage Elite Plus was perfect all weekend. And I couldn't believe how steady my hold was with my FUSE Carbon Blade stabilizers. My success both outdoors in the wind and indoors this season proves, this is a winning combination!"
The Masters division witnessed some heated action from Hoyt Pro Staffers Steve Boylan and Don Ward. Their intense final match proved Boylan to be the victor over Ward the reigning Las Vegas Champion.
Also joining the podium was Erica Anschutz who finished second in the women's unlimited competition and another great performance was turned in by Hoyt's Joe McGlyn, who amazingly took second in the limited class against a field of mostly compound shooters, with his Hoyt Formula recurve.
