Team Hoyt brought their A game to the heart of 3-D country, as the second ASA Pro-Am of the season got underway in West Monroe, Louisiana this past weekend. Cold and rainy weather was no problem, as once again Hoyt dominated the biggest category, Senior Pro, with a tremendous performance by Team Hoyt’s Melvin Shrewsbury. Team Hoyt is now two-for-two in this highly competitive class. 3-D legend, Allen Conner notched a third place on the podium and David McCullough placed fifth.
In Men’s Open Pro, Team Hoyt’s Dan McCarthy placed a strong third after an arrow loading mishap that scored him a zero- a dropped arrow that ended up a few feet from the bow. Strictly following the letter of the rules, McCarthy gave up contention for first place due to the accident, but still shot well enough to take a solid third place. Eric Griggs and Danny Evans also shot well placing in the top ten for Team Hoyt.
Hoyt’s Cara Fernandez brought her A game to the women’s line and took a strong second place on the winner’s stand. With a commanding six point lead Justin Bethel took 1st place in the Semi-Pro category.
In the competitive K-50 class, Team Hoyt took the top two places, with Daniel Mathews taking first place with a five point lead over Mitchell Irvin in second.
