Podium domination in Spain

Team Hoyt had a tremendous week at the European Championship in Spain this past week, with another medal streak in both compound and recurve categories.  Dean Alberga reports.

In the men's recurve the team of the Ukraine led by Olympic champion Viktor Ruban took the gold over thier Russian rivals. Viktor Ruban, Markiyan Ivashko and Yuriy Havelko all shot the Formula RX. Viktor also took bronze in the individuals.

The women compound was the domain of the Russians. The all Hoyt team with World and World Cup champion Albina Loginova pounded their way to victory by defeating the Italian women in the gold final. Albina also took her Vantage Elite plus to a silver medal in the indivuals.

Team Hoyt's Sander Dolderman and Peter Elzinga helped take the team silver for Netherlands in men's compound.

The girls from home country Spain took the bronze led by Hoyt's Fatima Agudo who also won the individual bronze.

The all Hoyt French compound man squad ended up in third with team mate Sebastien Peineau taking individual silver.

In the individual recurve women the top two of the previous European championship finished on the Podium again. This time Natalia Valeeva (ITA) took silver and Coby Hurkmans from the Netherlands bronze.

In women's recurve, the all-Formula recurve women's team of Ukraine took the silver.

In the junior compound men division the all Hoyt team of Italy took the championship with team member Jacopo Polidori also winning individual Gold. Ihor Kardash from Ukraine finished in second place.

In the junior individual recurve men Russian upcoming talent Bolot Tsybzhitov took the top honors.
