Brady Ellison Shoots Highest Score in Western Hemisphere History, wins Gold Cup

11 of 12 medals won by Hoyt Shooters

Hoyt’s Brady ELLISON and his Formula recurve have shot the highest score ever recorded outside Korea with an incredible 41 point win in the qualifying round of the 2011 Gold Cup USA Archery Team qualifier event in New Jersey this past weekend.

Brady’s monster 1368 score is the highest recorded outside Korea in FITA competition, and is a new USAA and World Archery Americas record.

Brady went on to dominate in the elimination and medal rounds, taking the Gold medal and the podium along with fellow Hoyt Formula shooters Jacob WUKIE and Peter KELCHNER.  Hoyt’s Khatuna LORIG and Karen SCAVOTTO took two of the three women’s medals, giving Team Hoyt Formula shooters five of the six individual medals.

Team Hoyt’s Khatuna LORIG, Joe FANCHIN, and Jacob WUKIE will join Brady ELLISON on the USA World Team competing in Torino, Italy this summer.  Hoyt shooters dominated the team trials, with Brady and Khatuna taking the #1 slots for the team in two separate trials events.

In the compound action Hoyt shooters were completely dominant throughout the entire event. In the Men’s Compound category, Dave COUSINS shot his Hoyt to a gold medal finish with Hoyt Pro Staffers Jesse BROADWATER, Rodger WILLETT Jr., Reo WILDE, Logan WILDE and Shane WILLS rounding out the top six places.

The Hoyt Compound Women were not to be outdone, with Jamie VAN NATTA dominating the event with a new World Record, and with Hoyt shooters Diane WATSON, Christie COLIN, Page PIERCE, Samantha NEAL, Erika ANSCHUTZ, Kailey JOHNSTON and Kendal NICELY in the top eight places.

Team Hoyt’s Jesse BROADWATER, Reo WILDE, Jamie VAN NATTA, Kailey JOHNSTON and Christie COLIN all went on to earn spots for the USA team that will compete at the World Outdoor Target Championships that will be held in Torino Italy later this summer.

It’s no accident that Hoyt shooters dominate the podium, make so many world and Olympic teams, and sweep so many tournaments. The technology that Hoyt engineers into each and every bow makes them easy to draw, aim, and shoot accurately, especially in high adrenaline situations.
