Another sweep for Team Hoyt

The 2012 Gator Cup at the Easton Newberry Center in Florida is the second USAT (US Archery Team) circuit event of the season, and once again it drew a great turnout and great battles for the top podium positions.

In the men’s compound action it was an absolutely “Wilde” Gold Medal final.

Brothers, and Team Hoyt standouts, Reo and Logan WILDE shot their way through the brackets and ultimately faced each other for the final.

Reo, fresh from his World Cup victory in Shanghai, carried his momentum to beat his younger brother Logan, after a great qualification round for both.

Hoyt Pro staff member Garrett ABERNETHY went on to win the bronze medal for a total men’s Hoyt podium sweep.

The men’s recurve division was also again dominated by Hoyt shooters.

In the absence of top Team USA stars like Brady Ellison, Jake Kaminski, Joe Fanchin or Jacob Wukie, all of whom were preparing for the second stage of the Olympic Trials, newcomer Alex WIFLER, in his adult debut out of the Jr. division, zoomed through the brackets to take the gold with Hoyt Formula, sharing the podium with Hoyt shooter and international star Crispin DUENAS of Canada who took the silver.

In the women’s compound action Hoyt shooters Erika Anschutz and Carly Cochran made the podium winning silver and the bronze medals respectively.

Team Hoyt congratulates the competitors and organizers of the 2012 edition of the Gator Cup for another excellent event!
