Fernandez Wins 3 out of 4 ASA Pro-Am's

Team Hoyt takes charge at the ASA's fourth event of the season in Augusta, Georgia.

Hoyt’s Cara Fernandez had an impressive first day of competition by taking a 12 point lead in the Women’s Pro division and shooting a 206 on the male open pro’s range. On Sunday, going into the shoot down round, Fernandez remained in the lead and captured her third win, this year, on the ASA Pro-Am tour. Fernandez and her Contender Elite with Fuse Carbon Blade ES stabilizers, remains in the top position for ASA Shooter of the Year. Also placing in the top ten in the Women’s Pro Division was Hoyt’s Aime Whittington.


In the Male Open Pro Division Hoyt’s Tim Gillingham was in a 5 way tie for the lead after the first day of competition. After another strong performance on day two, Gillingham and his Hoyt Vantage Elite entered the shoot down in second place. Fellow Hoyt Team Member Danny McCarthy and his Hoyt Alpha Elite went to work and after an impressive round, took the third position for the shoot down. This marked back to back appearances for both Gillingham and McCarthy in ASA shoot downs. After a 12 and 14 ring shoot out, Hoyt’s Gillingham remained in second place and McCarthy finished third. Augusta is McCarthy’s second podium finish this year on the ASA tour. Also placing in the top ten in the Male Pro Division was Hoyt’s Ken Lantz and Jame Jameson.


Allen Conner continued Hoyt’s domination, landing himself a top spot in the number one group after the first day of competition. Conner’s Alpha Elite proved to be red hot and took the fourth spot going into the shoot down. Conner joined Team Hoyt on the podium with a third place finish. Also placing in the top ten in the Senior Pro Division was Hoyt’s Melvin Shrewsbury.

Well on his way to be a top ranked pro, Matt Epperly and his Vantage Elite  dominated the semi-pro division. 


In the highly competitive Known-50 division, three Hoyt shooters, Mitchell Irvin, Sam Wolthius and Daniel Matthews-- placed first, second and third respectively for a clean Hoyt sweep.


Congratulations to all of Team Hoyt on impressive finishes in Augusta. The next stop on the ASA Pro-Am tour is in London, Kentucky on June 1st – 3rd.
