Fernandez Rules Kentucky


Team Hoyt’s McCarthy, Conner & Fernandez represent all three professional classes in Sunday’s ASA shoot down round.

Cool air mornings took London, Kentucky by surprise for the ASA’s first of two events held in the month of June. After the first day of competition Hoyt’s Allen Conner and Cara Fernandez held the top spots in both the Senior and Women’s Pro Divisions.


Hoyt’s Allen Conner entered the shoot down on Sunday with a mere two point lead. After multiple changes in the lead, Conner put his Alpha Elite to the test and secured a second place podium finish. The Shooter of the Year race is on with two events left and Conner is in a close race for the lead.


In the Women’s Pro Class, Hoyt’s Cara Fernandez continues her impressive 2012 season by securing her fourth ASA win of the year. This marks her third consecutive win in both ASA and IBO competition and her second back to back win on the ASA tour this year. Cara and her Contender Elite have claiming their first ASA Shooter of the Year title in sight.


Hoyt’s Danny McCarthy and his Alpha Elite posted an impressive final day score, claiming the third spot going into the shoot down round. After in an intense battle of twelve and fourteen shooting McCarthy secured a solid fifth place finish. This is McCarthy’s fourth top five and puts him in a close race for the ASA Shooter of the Year.


Team Hoyt also took first and second place in the Known 50 Class. Jacob Phelps claimed his first win in the class and Daniel Mathews secured a solid second place finish.


Congratulations to all of Team Hoyt. The next stop on the ASA Pro-Am tour is in Metropolis, Illinois on June 29th – July 1st.
