The IBO’s second national event of the year offered many challenging ranges for both amateur and professional archers. The professional archers were located away from the tournament village at Presque Isle Archery Club for competition. After the first day’s competition Hoyt’s Cara Fernandez, Tim Gillingham and Danny Evans held the top spots in both the Woman’s and Male Pro Divisions.
After shooting an impressive Sunday round of 5 up on extremely long courses, Hoyt’s Danny Evans secured his first professional win in the Male Pro Division. Evan’s Alpha Elite put him in the second spot after the first day’s competition but prevailed in fine shooting fashion to bring home his first victory.
Team Hoyt’s Cara Fernandez continued her impressive 2012 season with an eight point victory, in the Woman’s Pro division. Fernandez is the first professional archer to complete a full year of first place victories on the IBO circuit, dating from 2011 to 2012. This also marks her 4th consecutive win on the 2012 season in both IBO and ASA competition.
In the Senior Pro Division, Hoyt’s Allen Conner racked up yet another, impressive, top five finish with his Alpha Elite.
Congratulations to all of Team Hoyt on impressive finishes and a record setting weekend. The 3rd and final IBO National Triple Crown Event will be held in July at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Ohio.
