Team Hoyt shooters claimed seven of eight senior gold medals at the 2014 USA Outdoor Nationals and US Open, held in Hamilton Ohio. The USA Outdoor National tournament is a two day event, held to determine US Archery team rankings and the title of National Champion. The US Open is a head to head competition of the top 64 archers from USA Outdoor Nationals in each classification.
In Men’s Compound, Reo Wilde had a double medal weekend, claiming gold in the USA Nationals, and backing it up with a Bronze Medal at the US Open. Jesse Broadwater claimed a silver medal in the Nationals, and moved up a step to take Gold at the US Open.
Women’s Compound featured a battle between Team Hoyt’s Erika Jones and Jamie Van Natta. Van Natta claimed gold to Jones’ silver in the National event, and Jones flipped the script to beat Van Natta for Gold in the US Open. Team Hoyt’s Carli Cochran completed a Hoyt sweep by placing third in the USA Nationals.
In Men’s Recurve, Team Hoyt completed a podium sweep in both tournaments. Brady Ellison had a double gold weekend, taking the top spot on both podiums. Jake Kaminski took silver in the USA Nationals. Zach Garrett took bronze in the Nationals and silver in the US Open. Collin Klimitchek completed the sweep with a bronze finish in the US Open.
Women’s Recurve saw Khatuna Lorig take the podium for the USA Nationals, with La Nola Pritchard claiming bronze. In the US Open, Colombia’s Ana Rendon won silver.
