Waddell, Maxxis hammer hefty Alaskan moose!

Check out this behind-the-scenes photo essay from Michael Waddell's recent Alaskan moose hunt!

Hoyt Pro Staffer Michael Waddell had an unforgettable moose hunt in South Central Alaska, where he and his Hoyt made short work of a trophy-class bull! Michael hunted along the Nushagak River with outfitter Nick Pierskalla of Northern Wilderness Adventures. After several long days of cruising mile after mile of the river by jet boat - stopping often to hike, glass and call - Michael was rewarded with a close encounter with a rut-crazed bull.

In Michael's words ...

"It has always been a dream of mine to hunt moose with my bow in Alaska. There's just this lore about the vastness of Alaska that makes hunters dream about the experience it gives you. And for me it was truly a dream come true! Through bad weather, the general highs and lows of hunting, and the rush of the kill on the eighth day, I couldn’t have asked for a better moose experience," Michael said.

"I hope every hunter can one day trek to the wilds of Alaska and experience the incredible feeling of it all," Michael added. "I truly am thankful to be a part of The Brotherhood of hunters!"

The following photo essay gives you a behind-the-scenes look at Michael's hunt. Every aspect of the hunt - from Alaska's postcard-perfect views to the hunting action to the camaraderie in camp - made this trip a truly memorable experience for Michael.

The hunt will be featured on an upcoming episode of "Bone Collector" on The Outdoor Channel. Stay tuned to Hoyt.com for more hunt updates from Michael Waddell and other fan-favorite Hoyt Pro Staffers!
